The artist

Suave-Ski builds in two directions at once. He is an independent hip-hop musician from New London, Connecticut, raised in Fort Worth, Texas. His catalog moves between boom-bap, Southern-influenced rap, business-minded records and collaborative underground hip-hop.

Over close to twenty years he has worked with Apathy, Sadat X of Brand Nubian, Your Old Droog, Casual of Hieroglyphics, Blu, Cambatta and Blacastan. His 2019 album Speakeazy, produced entirely by Alcapella, made the Hartford Courant's Top 20 Connecticut Albums of the year. Suave Down South, produced entirely by 3fifty7, came out August 28, 2026.

On the road

He has played more than 70 documented shows across ten countries. In 2017 he toured Canada coast to coast with Apathy and Celph Titled on the Demigodz "Escape to Canada" run, 18 dates from Victoria to Montréal. In 2025 he played 11 dates in seven European countries on the Snowgoons XXV Anniversary Tour with Ill Bill, Sean Strange and Chubs.

He has supported Chris Webby on several tours, in rooms like the Skyway Theatre, The Rave and House of Blues Cleveland. In fall 2026 he joined Jeru the Damaja's 30th Anniversary Tour across Québec and Ontario, opened for KRS-One at Toad's Place in New Haven, and performed at Beatland 2026 in Bali.

Behind the lens

As a director he works under his own name, Andrew Camacho. Between 2013 and 2017 he shot and edited nine music videos, including two from Apathy's Connecticut Casual (No. 24 on Billboard's Top Rap Albums), Bishop Nehru's "Y.L.W (Young Living Wild)" and Blacastan's "Summa Cum Laude."

That work grew into Suave Mob LLC, the New London studio behind his music, visuals and merch.
